Session Summary:
During this session, participants will gain a fundamental understanding of why certain materials/combinations of materials are used in different applications. Participants will learn about specific resin and fiber properties, service temperatures, material limitations, environmental considerations, fiber forms, prepreg vs. dry/wet materials, core materials, the pros and cons of sandwich construction, and quasi-isotropic, balanced, symmetric laminate properties.
