 | Join us for this informative 2-part webinar series. The purpose of this series is to give participants the skills and knowledge to interpret all aspects of a mechanical drawing. Some people have the innate ability to visualize objects in three-dimensional space from a two-dimensional drawing. But anyone can accomplish this if some basic rules are in place and honed with practice. The series will begin with a discussion of the categories of drawings, and the meaning of each line type. Then the major focus of the first session will be on interpreting and visualizing orthographic projection. The second session will cover the auxiliary information on a print such as the title block and notes. Also covered are how to interpret dimensions, tolerances, machine surface callouts, screw threads, and other special symbols. Multiple examples will be provided to show specific applications. Each session includes practice exercises.
Speaker: John-Paul Belanger
John-Paul Belanger is certified by the ASME as a Senior GD&T Professional. He has conducted numerous GD&T and Tolerance Stacks classes for a variety of manufacturing clients throughout North America and Europe. For four years Mr. Belanger was the primary GD&T instructor for a major automotive OEM. He has also done extensive consulting with clients in the proper application of geometric tolerancing. He holds a degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Michigan specializing in aircraft design and safety.

 | The use of advanced composite materials is booming across many different industries, ranging from aerospace, wind energy, transportation, automobiles, marine, and sporting goods applications. Composite materials have replaced traditional metals as the material of choice in many high performance structures. This three part webinar series explores today's composite industry with a keen eye on the materials, manufacturing processes, and tooling for composites.
Upon completion of this series the attendee will have a fundamental understanding of why composite materials are used in today's structures, how these materials are processed, and the tooling requirements necessary to facilitate manufacturing.
